Prince Kaybee shares how he deals with grief

South African DJ and music producer Kabelo Motsamai, popularly known as Prince Kaybee, has recently shared how he deals with the loss of his mother.

The Charlotte hitmaker took to his X (formerly Twitter) to share that his mother passed away due to obesity-related illnesses.

“My mother died due to obesity related illnesses. Obesity related illnesses kill 30 000 people annually in South Africa surpassing HIV. My obsession with weight loss isn’t some joke, it has a deep scar that reminds me I could’ve guided my mother better in being more present,” he said.

After he lost his mother, Prince Kaybee revealed that his mother suffered from severe joint and spinal problems due to her weight.

“My mother died because she was overweight, all her joints were gone,” he penned.

He said her condition worsened over time and affected her mobility.

“What was severe was her intervertebral discs. They were damaged to a point she couldn’t walk. Her spine from the X-ray looked horrible. There were other complications, but I believe if she was not overweight, we could’ve saved her,” he added.
