Actress Letoya Makhene’s initiates accuse her of allegedly owing them money whilst they were in initiation school.

As per reports by entertainment publication, ZiMoja, these allegations come after Letoya’s ex-wife businesswoman Lebogang Keswa took to socials to share that Letoya was not a trained sangoma due to her not finishing her initiation meaning that she was not fully trained and qualified to train other initiates.

Speaking to the above-mentioned source, two of the actress’s former initiates said, “She charges R50,000 to train initiates. This excluded the things we needed to buy while living with her herbs, medicine, and animals for some rituals,” adding, “We paid a deposit of R20 000, and we started with the process, but we could not complete the initiation. Letoya had to move out of the home where we were all living and training when the marriage ended.”

During a recent interview with news publication, Sunday World, Lebo stated that the assault between her and her ex-wife was because of self-defence, adding, “I am going to the point where I assaulted her in self-defence. She threw something at me and all I know is that it was glass. I retaliated badly.” Lebo also added that she called Letoya’s father to mediate the situation between them, adding that, her father veteran singer Blondie told her that she was not only assaulting her ex-wife but the ancestors in her.

According to ZiMoja, Lebo stated that the initiates who had been practising at the house she shared with Letoya needed their ancestors released so they could find another trainer and the only person who could do that was Letoya.

“I come from a Christian home. Everything I did for Letoya was out of love, I learned the sangoma things because I loved her. I don’t know how to remove anyone’s ancestors from my house. Letoya is the one who needs to do that, I don’t know how it works, and I don’t want to be too involved at this stage, but she needs to do the right thing,” she says.
