Florence Masebe’s journey comes to an end on ‘Skeem Saam’

Award-winning actress, Florence Masebe who temporarily replaced Harriet Manamela as Meiki Maputla on the SABC 1’s Skeem Saam recently bid farewell to the soapie.

Florence known for characters she played on Muvhango and The Republic to name a few, joined the award-winning soapie as an interim, following Harriet’s sick leave to attend to her hip surgery.

The thespian was expected to temporarily play the character of the Maputla matriarch from the 15th of May until the end of season 12.

Taking to her Instagram page, the legendary actress shared that her journey with Meiki Maputla has come to an end, and expressed her gratitude to be part of the show with a caption that read: “It’s almost time to say goodbye to the Turfloop bunch. Thank you for the beautiful ride. See you on the next. Ndi a livhuwa. Aa!”

Her supporters took to the comment section of the post to share their views.

One Instagram user commented, “We loved you. You did fit in the role perfectly, We will miss you. You made me realise that there are so many Meikis out there, those who start talking and the walls shake. Thank you.”

Another one said, “You delivered my Queen. Entlek (actually) you overdelivered… I love and appreciate you.”

While another one said, “You did a stellar job. Salute, assignment executed.

Another user who was not happy about the news said, “But no, why so early, I still enjoy seeing you on Skeem Saam.”
