In what some may call embarrassing, police officers met up with YFM presenter Dimpho Mokgotho at her place of work to serve her with a protection order.

As per a recent report by ZiMoja, the drama ensued on Sunday after Dimpho and someone who can be described as her former close friend, Masego Kepadisa, had beef over a man they had both been seeing romantically since last year. An affidavit filed by the complainant states that the Sunday Feels with Dimpho host had been bad-mouthing her to the boyfriend.

A source shared with ZiMoja that Masego had enough of the insults and approached the court, which granted her a protection order.

A witness shared that Masego travelled from Mahikeng to make sure the authorities served Dimpho with the summons after she pointed her out to the police.

“When the police [came], Dimpho was still on air, and she couldn’t leave the studio unattended. It was embarrassing because there were other people in the studio like the technical staff,” adds the witness.

An additional source at the radio station alleged that Dimpho’s superiors pleaded with the police officers to wait for her to finish the show as there were no replacements during that time.

“The police were patient enough as they waited for more than an hour until the show was over. They tried not to embarrass Dimpho by not causing drama at the reception,” shared the source.
