Girl get up: Guide to entering your girl boss era

by Limpho Nonkonyane
PEXELS

The phrase “New year, new me” is a common mantra that many people adopt as a motivation to start fresh. In 2024, it appears that the girlies have a new goal – to enter into their girl boss era. This era is characterized by a relentless pursuit of productivity and a focus on earning more money.

To embrace the girl-boss era, one must strive for independence and refuse to let anyone dictate what you can achieve. It’s a call for women to step up and take charge of their careers, their lives, and their finances. It’s a time for women to empower themselves and become the best versions of themselves.

According to The Gorgeous Life, here is a guide on how you can enter into the girl boss era:

  • It starts in your mind: To succeed in the girl-boss era, it’s important to take care of your mind. This means thinking positively and being mindful of your mental health. Neglecting your mental health can lead to you feeling overwhelmed, so it’s essential to prioritise self-care.
  • Start associating with like-minded people: As the saying goes, “One rotten fruit can spoil the whole bunch,” the people you surround yourself with can shape the person you become over time. If you aim to improve yourself and continue to progress in life, it is essential to distance yourself from individuals who do not share the same aspirations as you. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to cut ties with all of your friends. Instead, you should focus on finding like-minded people who will support and motivate you.
  • Mind your own business: Being a successful woman in charge of her own life and career involves prioritizing one’s own goals and avoiding oversharing personal struggles. It’s important to keep private matters to oneself as negative people tend to feed off of others’ failures and may use that information to cause harm. By focusing on one’s self-improvement and success, one can avoid giving others the satisfaction of watching them fail.
  • Have confidence: Having confidence is key to achieving one’s goals. Girl bosses set their minds to something and have unwavering belief in their abilities.
