Tbo Touch celebrates 21 years in the radio industry

by Staff Bona

Radio personality Thabo Molefe, professionally known as Tbo Touch, has reached a milestone in his career this year, celebrating over two decades in the radio industry.

Best known as the radio host on Metro FM’s The Touchdown with Tbo Touch, the businessman expressed his disbelief and gratitude on his social media.

“Can’t believe it’s been 21 years of commercial radio career. It feels like yesterday,” said Tbo.

Concluding with thanks, Tbo said, “I’m forever grateful to Mr Lesley Ntloko, Leo Manne, and the iconic Mr Peter Matlare for giving me a shot back in 2003 to be part of this mega brand @metrofmsa. My sister @kinadolphin the magic maker! Thank you for calling me back. I’m enjoying this journey like I never left.”

Although Tbo is currently with Metro FM, this was not always the case.

In 2016, the popular radio host left the Johannesburg-based radio station, telling fellow radio personality Anele Mdoda on the 947 breakfast show, Anele and the Club last year, “There was never any bad blood between myself and the station. It was just a misunderstanding at the time. You don’t cut the umbilical cord if you understand the value of life. Our network is in the relationships we keep with people.”

He added, “The sad reality about talented people is we always threaten that where they are is the best thing that could happen in their life.”
