Lynn Forbes comments on the police investigation of AKA’s murder

by Bongiwe Mati

A video snipped posted by e-NCA’s Abigail Visagie of her interview with the late AKA’s mother Lynn Forbes, left many of her followers in a sad state.

Lynn who has been waiting with the rest of South Africa for her son’s murderer to be caught had the following to say when asked about the investigation.

“I think all of this is bigger than Kiernan, and bigger than the Forbes family. So, when the Megacy (AKA’s fans) asks for justice for AKA, I know what they’re asking is that we actually need justice as a country, and I support them on that, wholeheartedly.”

“On the investigation, the is obviously an investigation on going and obviously because its an on going investigation, you know, we can’t, even if they have information, they can’t share information with us that will jeopardise the investigation, but we are updated. We are told on regularly basis what’s happening.”

Speaking on the many false report doing the rounds on her son’s case, Lynn said, “I never took notice of that (false reports), unless it came from the police I’m not going to believe it.

“So, its the same, they definitely tell us that they are making progress and that’s public information. So there’s nothing that I can say differently that they will tell us that we would now have access to. What we know is what we need to know and I don’t want to rush them.”

She went on to say, “Kiernan is gone, for me, and nothing will bring him back. I’m still going to go to bed without my son and I’m gonna wake up without my son. It doesn’t matter who gets arrested, that’s never going to change.”

Instagram users spoke of her bravery and how well she was handling her pain.

One user wrote, “She’s so well spoken brave and handles everything regarding her son with so much wisdom knowledge. A rare human-being honestly God bless your soul Ma’am Kiernan”

Another user wrote “No mama ,we want them to pay! even if it doesn’t bring him back”
