The triumph represents another significant chapter in the young sprinter’s rapidly growing career. Walaza first captured global attention when he helped the country secure Olympic silver in the 4x100m relay at the Paris Games before going on to claim double gold in the 100m and 200m at the World Under-20 Championships.
If his performance in Ostrava is any indication, the speedster is once again ready to challenge the world’s best and continue his rise among the elite ranks of global sprinting.
For South African athletics, the message from Ostrava was clear: Bayanda Walaza is back on top.
