Relebohile Mofokeng intrigues Belgium

The 21-year-old enjoyed a stellar 2025/26 campaign with Orlando Pirates, guiding the club to a domestic treble while registering 11 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances.

Since his debut for the Buccaneers late in the 2022-23 season, Mofokeng has played 125 matches, scoring 29 goals and providing 31 assists, a goal contribution almost every second game.

🇿🇦 Union Saint-Gilloise are set to complete the signing of South African attacking midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng, who is expected to arrive in Belgium in the coming days.

His stock rose further at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he missed the opener against Mexico before making an impact off the bench against Czechia and then earning his first start of the tournament in the win over South Korea. Bafana Bafana’s run ultimately ended with a 1-0 defeat to Canada in the Round of 32.

He would not be the first South African to join Union SG. Percy Tau spent a loan spell there during the 2018-19 season before later earning a move to Brighton.

Union, owned by Brighton owner Tony Bloom, won the Belgian league title in 2024-25 and lifted the Belgian Cup this season.
