Kaizer Chiefs may be undergoing another change in its executive structure, as Jessica Motaung, the long-serving Marketing and Commercial Director, is reportedly set to resign.

Jessica Motaung to leave Kaizer Chiefs
The report was first raised by veteran broadcaster and sports journalist Robert Marawa, who indicated that Motaung is expected to relinquish her day-to-day commercial responsibilities while reportedly remaining on the Kaizer Chiefs Board of Directors. The club has not officially confirmed that she is leaving her executive role.
The reported development comes only months after Bheki Shongwe was appointed Kaizer Chiefs Group Chief Executive Officer in May 2026. Shongwe returned to a senior position at the club after previously serving as Managing Director between 2009 and 2012. His current mandate includes overseeing the day-to-day running of the organisation and working with the various departmental heads.
Motaung has been a prominent figure within the Kaizer Chiefs administration for more than two decades. She joined the club in 1998, became Marketing Manager in 2003 and later took on the Marketing and Commercial Director role. Her responsibilities have included the club’s commercial partnerships, marketing initiatives, brand development and merchandising activities.
As recently as May 2026, Kaizer Chiefs officially identified Motaung as its Marketing and Commercial Director when she hosted an event celebrating women who have contributed to football in South Africa.

An influence extending beyond the team
The club announced in 2025 that she had been appointed to FIFA’s Men’s Football Stakeholders Committee, with her term running until 2029. She has also held positions within CAF and the African Clubs Association.
If the reported change is confirmed, Motaung would remain connected to Kaizer Chiefs at board level rather than leaving the organisation completely. The move would form part of a broader restructuring of the club’s executive operations following Shongwe’s appointment.
For now, Kaizer Chiefs have yet to make an official announcement confirming Motaung’s reported departure from the Marketing and Commercial Director position, meaning the details of any potential restructuring remain subject to confirmation.
