Keep your hair looking, feeling and smelling great with this all-natural recipe for a homemade detangler. It’s safe enough for your whole family and is incredibly effective. It also doubles as a leave-in conditioning treatment.

What you’ll need to get started

  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil
  • A quarter cup of boiled water, that has been allowed to cool
  • A small spray bottle

Making the detangler

Start off by pouring the apple cider vinegar and lavender essential oil into a spray bottle. Allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes. Then pour in the water and shake well to combine the ingredients.

The detangler is now ready to use

To get rid of knots, simply spray the mixture over the affected hair and allow to sit for a few minutes before brushing. To use as a leave-in conditioner, spray the mixture all over freshly washed hair and allow to dry.

Because apple cider vinegar flattens the hair surface, it allows a comb or brush to glide easily through the hair. In addition, it also reduces frizz and it is a natural conditioner. Lavender essential oil, on the other hand, has a softening effect on the hair and imparts a beautiful fragrance to it.
