The economy in South Africa is continuing to rise making it impossible for many people to keep up with their lifestyles.

Another problem faced by other South Africans is the increase of their tax when they get permanent jobs. A guy shared a video of himself on his TikTok account @utlimate_dr_molawa whilst he wrote, “After being permanent now my tax is over 25k. Is it a must to pay tax mara?”

This had many of TikTokers worried, whilst they sympathised with him giving him advice on what to do, one said, “Tip increase your pension contribution per month then your tax will decrease.”

In his caption he asked, if companies can’t pay them full salaries allowing them to pay SARS themselves. He concluded his caption, “Taxes 2024, taxes vs USA, how to file taxes for beginners, taxes meme, taxes in the Us, taxes explained, taxes city, taxes refund 2024.”

@ultimate_dr_molawaCan’t companies give us our full salaries then we pay SARS ourselves?? taxes 2024 taxes vs usa how to file taxes for beginners taxes meme taxes in the Us taxes explained taxes city taxes refund 2024♬ original sound – Thembelihle Letho

It seems as if he is not the only one going through this as other TikTokers used his platform to explain how much they are paying.

“Ai lenna I don’t see a reason for us to pay tax honestly! We are funding our governments lifestyle.”

Another one wrote, “Every-time I see how much goes towards PAYE I want to cry shame.”

“Being able to afford to pay income tax, is an achievement on it’s own. there are so many who would love to be in ur shoes,” wrote one user.
