Nigerian woman answers US man’s socks question
In what appears to be a now-deleted TikTok video, @brianjehova1 asked the public, “Do they have socks in Africa? Yes or no.” It is unclear what his video was about.
Charity Ekezie, a content creator and journalist, seized the opportunity to jokingly tell the American man that there are none and she had never seen a pair in her life, despite a few pairs hanging behind her.
Sharing her response on 22 June 2026, she said, “I don’t know what they look like, but we wear snake skin. Any time we have cold feet, we go straight to the forest and look for a place where a snake has shed its skin.”
She humorously added that, given the length, people would cut the snake skin in half and put them on their feet for extra warmth.
“These snakes are obliged to do this because they have been given the mandate by our gods to always shed their skin for us so that we don’t feel cold.
“So, that’s how we survive in Africa without socks. We are grateful to the snakes for their skin.”
