Taking care of your dreadlocks is a journey of dedication and love. It takes time and effort to keep them looking their best, but the rewards are well worth it.

So, before you embark on your journey, let’s go over the basics of dreadlock care suggested by TikTokers who have dreadlocks:

1. Wear a bonnet/ durag when you are home or going to sleep.
2. Start up a routine such as wash days.
3. Detox the locks

1.Wear a bonnet/ Durag

This helps with keeping the hair from being tangled by the blankets and the pillow.

2. Wash Day routine

Having a wash day routine is not only essential for keeping your locks clean but it also helps with growth and making sure that the dandruff does not cause much of a buildup. You can have a wash day 2 times a week.

3. Detox

Detoxing your dreadlocks is essential for when you have been doing different hairstyles without taking time to have your hair loose. It helps with cleaning the buildup that is mainly caused by the styling gel used for styles. For detoxing you use bicarbonate of soda, warm water and apple cider vinegar.
