Even though she is retired, this won’t be the last time you hear about Tatjana Smith. Since winning the gold medal in swimming at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, she has secured brand deals.
According to the Olympic hub, Tatjana became a two-time Olympic 2024 winner after securing a gold and silver medal for her 200 and 100-metre breaststroke swim. Despite hanging up her goggles and swim cap she has been nothing but happy.
During a Clinique Concept Store masterclass in Johannesburg, Tatjana spoke about how she defines beauty standards for herself and how she stayed confident wearing swimwear all these years.
Speaking to news publication, IOL, she said: “It’s still a challenge every day, but there are things you can put in place. For me it was with shoots, I am comfortable with the full costume, covering up a bit more. The costume is not by choice, it’s part of the sport.”
The above-mentioned source adds that she admitted to wearing waterproof makeup whilst swimming which she added made her feel good about herself.

Tatjana also recently partnered with HUAWEI for the launch of the nova 12i, which CEO of HUAWEI South Africa Device Business Group, Peter Fang describes as a partnership between two champions. adding that, “Tatjana in the pool and HUAWEI in the tech world, both driven to break new ground and inspire a healthier, more stylish future for South Africans.”
