Local is Lekker! The nation known for its diverse cultures, languages and foods celebrates its togetherness by bringing everyone together.

A day set to commemorate our cultures as we continue to explore and learn about each other’s cultures.

Food, fashion and music are what sets us apart from other countries but what if I told you that you can represent local fashion brands for this holiday?

Throughout the years, many fashion designers have launched their respective local brands and while they continue to beg consumers to shop locally, and pay them what is due to them it is not known how long these brands will last with the influx of online shoppers wanting their items faster and cheaper.

Here’s some brands you need to start wearing:

1. Era by DJ Zinhle

Being on the decks isn’t the only thing the DJ and businesswoman is good at, as she has gone on to launch a jewellery and accessories brand as well as a hairline brand amongst other things. This range represents all things fashion giving customers a more youthful look.

2. Galxboy

Need I say more? You can’t talk about fashion and not mention this brand by Laduma as it executes the Xhosa culture with fashion.
