How to hide dark circles

Give your eyes a fresh look by covering dark circles like a pro. By Grace Mantjiu

Dark circles under the eyes are a concern for most women. This is because they tend to age your appearance more than wrinkles. They are usually worse in the morning, especially after a sleepless night. There is no miracle product to completely get rid of dark circles, but there are ways to minimize them.

Try these easy steps below:

Step 1:

Tackle the root of the problem with a brightening eye cream. Choose a fast-absorbing formula that not only hydrates your under eye area, but also primes it for the concealer to last longer.

Step 2:

Neutralize any discolouration with a corrector. Apply a thin layer under your eye, especially on the inner corners. Correctors are pigmented, so use as minimal as possible. The corrector helps to even out the dark area.

Step 3:

Apply the concealer, the product that hides the dark circles. It must be a shade or two lighter than your foundation so as to cover the dark circles. If you have oily skin, do not use creamy formulas as they tend to be more oily and can clog your pores. Liquid formulas are suitable for all skin types.

Step 4:

Finish off with loose powder to set your concealer and have lasting coverage.
