Rooted in heritage, architectural craftsmanship, and modern identity, here are five visionary South African labels capturing the spotlight.

MUNKUS by Thando Ntuli

The vibe: Nostalgic, layered, and timelessly vibrant.

The story: Founded by award-winning designer Thando Ntuli, MUNKUS draws inspiration from 1980s and ’90s South African style aesthetics.

Known for modular, layered garments that can be mixed, matched, and passed down across generations, the label balances high-energy prints with sustainable fabrics like linen, cotton, and durable denim. Ntuli’s designs celebrate womanhood while maintaining a strong commitment to slow fashion principles.
