Zodwa Wabantu steals the show on ‘The Roast of Pearl Thusi’

When thinking of Zodwa Wabantu, comedic genius is not the first word that pops into one’s mind. However, the controversial figure has proven that she has more tricks up her sleeves than most would anticipate after internet users shared glimpses of her impressive performance in Peal Thusi’s highly anticipated roast.

Since her unexpected entrance to fame, Zodwa Wabantu, born Zodwa Rebecca Libram, has consistently made headlines for her controversial and sometimes problematic words and actions. Zodwa’s straightforwardness and disregard for consequences or backlash have propelled her to become the kind of ‘villain’ you love to hate, as she often says the things everyone is thinking but is too afraid to say.

In a clip that is currently making rounds on X (formerly Twitter), the socialite-turned-sangoma has the crowd captivated with her confidence and stage presence. The clip reveals Zodwa on stage at the highly anticipated Roast of Pearl Thusi which is set to air on the 8 December 2024 on Comedy Central.

It appears Trevor Noah, Skhumba and Felix Hlophe need to watch their backs before Zodwa comes for their career, as she has proven that she is more than capable of occupying multiple avenues. The crowd was evidently into Zodwa’s set as they consistently broke out in laughter, causing users to be even more impatient for the final show this December.
