Dr Musa Mthombeni reminisces about YOTV days
The doctor, a qualified diagnostic and interventional radiologist, reminisced about his ‘s-curl’ strands, noting that he had two weekly hair appointments to increase his “dark and loveliness.”
“When I still had hair. Nkosi yam.”
Never one to stray from humour, Dr Musa joked that those remembering his YOTV days should be married and their first child would likely be completing their final year at school next year. He added, “You need to start figuring out how you’re going to pay for their four-year degree.”
He also described the kids’ programme as “amazing” and pointed online viewers to images on the side of the postcard showcasing the shows that the youth could enjoy during the 2000s.
“Everything from magazine shows with serious interviews, an entrepreneurial show about how to run a business, a music show for finding singing talent, and a quiz show to test general knowledge. It’s crazy how important YOTV was to the young South Africa!” he wrote.
