Mzansi has been crashing out ever since The Polygamist dropped on Netflix. The latest drama has become one of the most talked-about shows online, sparking heated discussions across social media platforms.

Following its premiere on Friday, 12 June 2026, the series has been trending on social media, after landing at number one on Netflix. The 22-episode series, an adaptation of Sue Nyathi’s 2012 novel, stars Sdumo Mtshali and Gugu Gumede, along with a star-studded cast, and explores the toxic marriage between Jonasi and Joyce.

Many fans took to X, TikTok, and Facebook to share their reactions, with some praising the show’s raw and unfiltered look at family dynamics, while some expressed shock at the intense confrontations and emotional moments that unfolded throughout the series. Even the Gauteng health department X account had something to say.
