Rofhiwa Madzena’s journey to Business Day
The news anchor joined the Business Day team only a couple of months after her dismissal from the news broadcasting channel eNCA. Her dismissal was part of a wave of three departures in July 2026. Alongside Rofhiwa, Heidi Giokos and an unnamed senior technical staff member were dismissed due to the alleged failure to disclose external work or business activities.
The veteran anchor was part of the eNCA broadcasting team for 8 years, starting in 2018, working as a business anchor and producer.
However, before eNCA, Rofhiwa built her career in media at CNBC Africa. She also contributed to both Forbes Africa and Forbes Women Africa as a business writer.
The award-winning journalist holds a BA degree in international relations and media studies from Wits University. With all her experience, skills and history in reporting business news, Rofhiwa finding her new home on Business Day TV is natural and aligned with her career focus.
