Mzansi’s podcasting scene is thriving, with more celebrities joining the trend, including Unathi Nkayi, who is launching her podcast titled “A Safe Space with Unathi” (or “A.S.S. with Unathi”).
Known for her candid approach, Unathi plans to host deep and honest conversations. With a diverse career as a singer, radio host, and former “Idols SA” judge, she joins other notable podcasters like MacG, DJ Sbu, and Ntsiki Mazwai.
After recently going on MacG’s Podcast and Chill with co-hosts Sol Phenduka and Ghost Lady. She added that she won’t go back to radio citing that it broke her whilst relaying what happened between her and former co-host Size Dhlomo on air.
After this episode, many internet users called for MacG to hire Unathi as she was described as well-spoken and very articulate with the way she told her story.
Unathi recently expressed her emotions on Instagram about her son sharing a photo of them, announcing that he and her nephews will be among the first guests on her podcast, which aims to foster real talk and open dialogue.
“My son posting this made me VERY emotional. He and my nephews have agreed to come onto my podcast to talk about it coz WOAW – YES. Podcast COMING SOON – A.S.S. with Unathi – A Safe Space with Unathi,” she captioned the post.

Taking to the comment section Instagram users shared that it was a beautiful mother-and-son bonding moment as she mentioned that he would be coming on the podcast.
One user said: “Beautiful moment capture indeed. But when you say they’re coming on to talk about it, you mean to talk about the beautiful pic, mos neh?”
Another user commented: “A.S.S”!! Didn’t see that one coming. Can’t wait though!”
