Trevor Noah receives multiple Emmy nominations

Congratulations are in order to superstar comedian Trevor Noah who received not one, but four Emmy Awards nominations – one for his Netflix special Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would, and three for the American talk show The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

The Emmy Awards – also referred to as the Emmys – acknowledges the artistic and technical merit of those involved in the American and international television industry, including programmes involved with streaming services.

Trevor took to Twitter to announce his big news. Tweeting The Daily Show‘s announcement, Trevor wrote:

“Wow! This is always so surreal. 3 Emmy noms for @thedailyshow. Thank you to @TelevisionAcad for the honour once again! And of course congrats to everyone behind the scenes at @thedailyshow! Chris McCarthy, and the entire Paramount family! Thank you!”

The show received nominations for Outstanding Talk Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, and Outstanding Picture Editing for Variety Programming.

Sharing his astoundment at the achievement of his Netflix special Trevor Noah: I Wish You Would, the comedian tweeted:

“Wow. Having my @Netflix special “I wish you would” nominated for an Emmy is absolutely mind-blowing but to be in the same category as @imcarolburnett, @Lizzo, John @Mulaney, @TheNormanLear, & @iamwandasykes?? How is this life?? Thank you so much to everyone who watched and everyone who voted.”

Trevor must have been up in the air when receiving his nomination news as he tweeted a few minutes later, “Celebrating the nominations with 248 of my closest friends,” along with a picture of himself in a hoodie in what seems to be an aeroplane.
