The comedic show that airs on YouTube titled Sugar Mama seems to have captured many hearts.

The brain child of Liyabona Nqaba – a comedian and film maker from the Eastern Cape, seems to be growing rapidly, with the increase of viewers on their channel. Shot in the Eastern Cape, the show is set against the backdrop of a young man who is dating and cohabiting with an older woman, who lives with her children who are older than him.

As expected, the children and their new father don’t get along as they are against their mother’s relationship with this young man. The show boasts a sterling cast that includes Liyabona, Perm, Simbulele, Phanjile, Lilitha, Wendy, Dani, Thembi, Lukhanyo, Cya, Dabane and Ta Fire among others.

Two seasons have already aired and they have left viewers begging for more. The second season’s finale ended on a cliff-hanger, after Dani caught Liya cheating on his sugar mama.

Not so long ago, Liyabona penned an open letter to government and private institutions on behalf of the Sugar Mama cast and crew.

He cited that as a group of young people who are united by their passion of film production, they humbly request for assistance in acquiring equipment that would enable them to continue creating quality content. He noted that they are not seeking financial assistance but rather the donation of equipment that would make a significant difference in their productions.

“We are aware of the film production funding opportunities that are advertised, and we have applied and will continue to do so. Nevertheless, your support would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way in helping us achieve our goals,” read the letter.
