South African DJ Sithelo Shozi response to rumours of alleged bribe, the local DJ strongly denied the claims that she took a bribe to remain silent about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of the father to her two children Andile Mpisane.

In early August, Sithelo had claimed that she was allegedly abused and therefore a victim of gender-based violence (GBV) by Andile. The socialite and DJ also revealed she had partnered with the NPO Women For Change to raise awareness about GBV and started a petition to be granted a protection order for the safety of herself and her children.

The petition had generated nearly 55,000 signatures to date.

She took to Instagram stories, saying she stood by her statements and would appear in court on October 31.

“Let’s just get this one out of the way. I’m not one to clear any rumours, but let it be known where I stand, once and for all. I remain in my truth. I’m very appreciative of every person who has shown me genuine support and aided in the success of all signatories in the petition I put out.

“Due to the nature of this matter, I’ve protected myself and my truth with my silence, letting my attorneys deal with it as best as possible. As stated previously, the date of the order is October 31 and I stand firm in all I’ve said. Nothing has changed. Gender-based violence is a serious matter in this country and nobody or no bribes could ever erase [the] damage caused by perpetrators,” she posted.

Sithelo is the former girlfriend of Andile Mpisane and the pair have two children together. Early in July she took to Instagram to open up about the alleged abuse.

The allegations landed Sithelo, Andile and MaMkhize on South Africa’s Twitter trends, with many twitter users waiting for Andile and his mother to share their version of events.

Taking to her Instagram timeline, MaMkhize said she and her family had never witnessed the alleged abuse Sithelo accused them of in a series of Instagram stories she posted on her timeline.

“I would like to categorically state that neither myself nor my family have been witness to any alleged abuse against Sithelo and further [would] like to highlight that these allegations are false and defamatory, ” she said.
