Father’s Day had many celebs showing appreciation to not only their fathers but their spouses too. Media personality and DJ Sithelo Shozi also showed appreciation to her child’s father on Instagram… but just the one.

It is no secret that The Masked Singer SA detective Sithelo and Royal AM Football Club Chairman Andile Mpisane are not on good terms with one another. In May 2023, the former couple – who share two children – reportedly went to court due to a legal battle over their child’s custody. Sithelo accused that Andile, as well as Andile mother Shauwn Mkhize, of not returning her child after a visit. The DJ also claims that she had been fighting for her child since March last year, according to The South African.

The mom of three had also accused Andile of gender-based violence in July 2022.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Sithelo thanked Phillip Maseko (also known as Lord Phil), the father of her first-born. The post read, “Happy Father’s Day. Thank you for always being the best father to our son. We appreciate you so much.”

Many social media users felt Sithelo’s decision to not post about Andile was uncalled for while others backed her decision.

“She clearly did that out of spite because she didn’t post for previous years. Sithelo’s daughters live great lives because of their father,” said one social media user.

Another wrote, “Sithelo wished a happy Father’s Day to the baby daddy that gave her peace. I stan a focused queen.”
