SiR’s electrifying performance in Johannesburg wins over SA

South African R&B lovers had a time this past weekend when the smooth sounds of American R&B singer SiR officially took over Johannesburg on Saturday, 23 May 2026. The acclaimed artist was announced as one of the headline acts for the ‘Once Upon a Time’ concert.

The performance was nothing short of electrifying, with fans flocking from across the country to experience SiR.

Interestingly, this moment has been coming for a long time. Back in 2024, a South African Instagram user, Lusanda Nosenga, reached out to SiR, urging him to visit Johannesburg.

With four successful studio albums under his belt (Seven Sundays, November, Chasing Summer, and Heavy), SiR has consistently delivered music that resonates with themes of love and friendship. His most recent album, released in 2024, further cemented his place as one of R&B’s most compelling voices.

The ‘Once Upon a Time’ concert in Johannesburg has also quickly become a go-to event for R&B enthusiasts since its inception in March 2024. Known for bringing international stars to local audiences, the event offers fans a rare opportunity to experience their favourite artists live.

SiR delivered one of the best performances with songs like Devils, No Evil, Karma, and fan-favourite John Redcorn.
