Known around the world for her legendary role as Galleria Garibaldi in The Cheetah Girls and her long-running hit series That’s So Raven, the star opened up about her love for South Africa, her career evolution, and the major project that brought her to local shores.
The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen hits Mzansi
Speculation was officially put to rest as confirmed reports and social media announcements verified that Raven-Symoné is in South Africa filming the highly anticipated fourth instalment of the iconic franchise: The Cheetah Girls: Next Gen.
Serving as both executive producer and reprising her role as Galleria, Raven leads a fresh narrative centred on a new generation of talent. The storyline follows Galleria and Chanel taking Galleria’s daughter, Faith, along with Chanel’s sister, Dior, and their friends to Africa for a wildlife sanctuary volunteering project, where a brand-new sisterhood and musical journey unfold.
Original franchise stars Adrienne Bailon-Houghton (Chanel) and Sabrina Bryan (Dorinda) are also attached to the project, alongside veteran screen legends Lynn Whitfield and Lori Alter, who reprise their maternal roles.

Local fans and community leaders recently caught up with Raven-Symoné in the coastal town of Kleinmond, where she was spotted enjoying lunch at the harbour’s popular C Shack Restaurant.
Stopping to take photos with locals and municipal representatives, including Overstrand Speaker Cllr Grant Cohen, Raven gushed about her love for the area, calling it a truly special place. Combined with safari excursions across local wildlife reserves and filming in Cape Town, Mzansi is officially providing a breathtaking backdrop for the franchise’s long-awaited return.
