After putting up a successful display of South African music at the Red Bull Symphonic event alongside Amapiano legend Kabza De Small, the talented conductor Ofentse Pitse believes that her career is now destined to reach even greater heights.

The duo recently combined their musical knowledge to present the Amapiano genre in a way that it was never experienced before when they performed at the Red Bull Symphonic event which was held at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg. With the demand to attend the event being so high, another show was held the following evening.

Speaking about the experience of being involved in such an occasion Ofentse says that producing such a masterpiece came with months of preparation.

She says that when she was approached with the proposal to join her experience in the world of classical music with the Amapiano genre, there was only one artist that came to her mind – that was Kabza.

In her interview with news publication, Sunday World, she added:

“We created a seat at the table for two genres that are opposites, but we did it so beautifully because we knew how important it was for the culture,” said Ofentse.

The 31-year – old credits her recent success for the platform laid in the earlier stages of her life. She grew up with family members who had a strong connection to the Salvation Army and before she knew it, she found herself involved with the church’s brass band.

She can now also boast about the fact that she is the first young black female South African to conduct her very own Orchestra, which is a testament to the journey she has traveled, and the amount of work put into her craft.

While she has previously also collaborated with Alicia Keys, she says that her recent concert was just the tip of the iceberg and that she wants to collaborate with many more like-minded artists who are always showing up at the highest levels.
