Isitha: The Enemy star Nonkululeko Mbatha recently opened up about her experience and journey playing Thenjiwe on the hit show after e.tv has announced that the popular TV drama will air its final episode on 23 April 2027 due to creative differences.

In her interview with Daily Sun, the star spoke about how she feels about the show ending and what that experience was like. Mbatha shared her gratitude for the opportunity, noting that she approached the news with a positive mindset.
“When one door closes, another one opens.”

What Nonkululeko Mbatha will miss the most
A lot can be missed about being part of an ensemble of actors, from seeing each other every day to forming memorable bonds. However, what Mbatha says she will miss is the journey and the people.
After the show ends, it will be the last time many of the actors and crew of the TV drama will see each other. Though sad, the 27-year-old will always hold the memories and experiences shared dearly in her heart.
“The relationships and memories will remain”, she said.
An end of an era
The show has been on air for three years, and the decision to come to an end was not an easy one. According to e.tv, the decision is part of the channel’s move towards a new wave of storytelling and drama productions.
The channel is simply moving forward in a different direction with fresh perspectives, new characters and different stories.
The TV drama was a successful successor to the show The Black Door, quickly gaining its own identity.
