South African digital content creator Mandisi Tshingana is nominated by the Emerge Africa Awards under the Humanitarian Award category.

Emerge Africa Awards is an initiative to honour and celebrate a cross-section of the nation’s most influential individuals, brands and organisations from all around Africa.

Most of us know Mandisi for his famous TikTok videos where he portrays a domestic worker who is always in a good mood and dancing along with his funny Facebook posts where he engages with his followers.

I personally think that Mandisi is a perfect candidate for the category because of the initiative he recently started to help South African actress, Brenda Ngxoli who was living in a toxic environment along with her daughter Sky.

Mandisi took it upon himself to start a donation initiative for Brenda which not only helped her raise R150,000 but also opened doors to new opportunities, including securing more gigs.

Some social media users extented a helping hand and raised gift vouchers and services over R20 000 for her. Recently, it was shared that the award-winning actress received a role in an upcoming rom-com called, A Scam Called Love which is set to premiere the 7th of March.

This initiative proves that the Xhosa phrase, ‘Umntu ngumntu ngabantu‘ is true and makes Mandisi a good fit for the award.

Taking to his Facebook page, Mandisi announced the nomination and wrote, “Nindithandile [you have loved me].”

Fans and supporters buzzed his comment section assuring him that he will win the award as he is deserving of it.

One wrote: “You deserve it! Thank you for letting your humanity shine through someone else’s dark hour.”

While others shared screenshot showing that they have started voting already, some congratulated the award-winning content creator.
