Makhadzi allegedly a no-show at booked gig

Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, popularly known as Makhadzi, is said to have allegedly skipped a show she was booked for.

ZiMoja reports that the singer was booked to perform at the Dries Niemandt Park in Kempton Park on 30 April alongside DJ Maphorisa, Somizi, and Sjava, to name a few.

Makhadzi had reportedly charged R80 000 to perform at the Exclusive White Lifestyle gig as a headline act and received a deposit of R40 000 on 25 January to secure her services. However, the singer did not pitch, according to the publication.

Event organiser Greg Hlatswayo told ZiMoja that the balance was paid on 22 April. The publication had even seen the payments made to the Milandu Bhe hitmaker’s account.

Makhadzi appeared to be double-booked on those performance days. She was booked to perform at the Homecoming Party with Makhadzi in Limpopo and at the Polokwane Cricket Ground on 30 April. She was the headliner and performed alongside Limpopo artist King Monada as well as Oskido, according to the publication.

According to Greg, Makhadzi was supposed to appear at the gig at 10 p.m., as the event was to end at 11.30 p.m.

“Instead of rocking up on time, she sent a text asking for extra time. They gave her the extra time, but an hour later she sent another text saying she was two hours away,” said Greg.

“Remember that Makhadzi was also late for the Metro FM Music Awards in Mbombela. She claimed to be stuck in traffic. At the rate she is going, she must just kiss her music career goodbye because music promoters are going to get gatvol. She thinks she is not irreplaceable. It’s only a matter of time before she sees her shows drying up.”

ZiMoja has reportedly reached out to the singer. However, she did not wish to comment.
