Ma oledi’s prayers answered: Sweet Guluva shares gratitude over winning BBM

The newly crowned Big Brother Mzansi season five winner, Akhonamathemba Mbele who is popularly known as Sweet Guluva is beaming with joy and is grateful to mzansi for the unending love and support.

KwaZulu Natal’s very own hailing from eNquthu also clinched three awards under the categories of Neat freak, the most creative and likely to succeed housemate in a mini-award ceremony that was hosted by Smash Afrika at the Big Brother House.

Recently, Sweet Guluva sat down with BONA where he expressed his gratitude and conversed about his time in the house. He mentioned that he feels special and is grateful from mzansi for choosing him to be their winner. He also mentioned that this is a rare opportunity, he will remain thankful to his supporters.

Sweet Guluva recently clinched the R2 million gran prize after beating Jojo, Nate, Nsuku and subsequently Uyanda who was his runner-up.

“I’m still not sure how i’m going to spend the R2 million, but we are definitely multiplying,” he said

He revealed that whenever he won the Friday night games or HOH challenges, he believed that his mother was praying for him at home that is why he kept on saying “Ma oledi (Mom) keep on praying.” The saying kept him close to his mother and kept him motivated.

“It is a thing that came into mind after winning games in the house, because I knew that ma oledi is praying at home so even if I’m here let me just say ‘ma oledi keep on praying’ because we are getting closer to the finishing line.,” said Sweet Guluva.

The 23-year-old student told BONA that he wishes to not reveal the status of his relationship with former housemate, Ash-Ley Ogle yet, he will state in the near future.

The aspiring barber said he auditioned for Big Brother Mzansi because he needed to expose his talents, he mentioned that he would have been grateful for the opportunity even if he stayed two weeks in the house, as he had planned that he would expose all his talents in the two weeks he stayed.

“I entered the house for exposure, and I told myself that even if I lasted two weeks in the house I would expose all my talents , and whatever task that would be issued and within my capabilities, I will push, but God and BBM fans were with me and made sure that I don’t only stay for two weeks but until the last day, and I am very grateful.

I would like to venture into music, be it Amapiano, Gqom or Hip Hop because I was a rapper when I was young. I would also like to try radio and TV presenting,” said Sweet Guluva.
