Who are the DJ Warras murder suspects?

The two named suspects in the case of the murder of the DJ are set to appear in the High Court after reportedly opting for legal representation.

According to SABC News, Hlengiwe Buthelezi and Victor Majola are charged with premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder. The court appearance comes after a delay in the case as the two suspects were still seeking legal representation.

Buthelezi, the third suspect, was arrested in September in Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal, where she allegedly hid.

The 40-year-old woman was wanted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder based on allegedly forwarding Warras and his partner’s car particulars to the co-accused Majola.

Majola, who is the suspected orchestrator behind the shooting, and Buthelezi will be two of the three murder accused to stand trial, as the second accused, Armindo Pacula, is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to the charges.

The crime

The three suspects are standing trial for the brutal murder of the renowned radio host DJ Warras, who was shot dead in his car on 16 December 2026.

Warras was reportedly parked outside Zambesi House near Carlton Centre in Johannesburg, where he was overseeing the installation of security systems at the premises.

It was then that three people allegedly approached the vehicle and opened fire on him and the vehicle before fleeing the scene. The TV presenter ended up succumbing to multiple gunshot wounds sustained in the attack.
