KZN police say claims of AKA and Tibz killers being arrested are false

KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner says that reports claiming that the killers of AKA and Tibz are arrested are false.

AKA whose real name is Kiernan Forbes was fatally shot in early February last year with his close friend Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane at the Wish restaurant in Durban.

As reported by entertainment publication ZiMoja, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi  who is the provincial commissioner said that he wanted to set the record straight as various reports claimed that the alleged suspects had been found in Eswatini after running away from the country.

He further explained to the publication that these two cases were not connected saying ,”I wish to place it on record that the suspects in question will be coming back to South Africa to face a case of murder and attempted murder where a man, who was a passenger in a vehicle, was shot and killed in Berea on 6 March 2023. The driver of the vehicle survived the shooting and managed to drive to a fuel station in Berea where she sought assistance. Investigation into that particular case pointed to the suspects who were traced and found to be hiding in Eswatini.”

A post on X (formerly Twitter) suggested that the killers were found leading many X users to be suspicious of these claims.
