A moment that was intended to be one of joy and jubilee has turned somewhat sour as actress Kwezi Ndlovu has taken to her social media to clear up a few misconceptions about her soon-to-be husband, Sibongiseni Mageza Mbambo.

In a moment of vulnerability, the former Isithembiso actress shared with her followers and supporters that she and her family had concluded her lobola negotiations with her prominent businessman partner Sibongiseni. According to the actress and her close circle, the procedure went on swimmingly and concluded successfully, as can be seen by the celebratory mood that can be observed in the videos making rounds on social media.

Unfortunately, the post did not garner the reaction that Kwezi had expected, with some users rushing to comment on her choice of clothing, stating that as a Zulu woman, wearing the Xhosa traditional attire comes off as cultural appropriation as opposed to appreciation. Furthermore, some users accused Khwezi of snatching her now fiancé from one of her close friends.

That is not all, other users attempted to shame Kwezi for choosing to marry Sibongiseni who is reportedly known to have a plethora of children by multiple women. According to users, this decision is a poor reflection of the former Umkhokha actress’ character.

Kodwa 17 children is madness

Nobody cares about you or your silly lobola negotiations. You are just a worthless attention seeker, who entertained that old polygamist man who has many children because he has serious money, sies and shame on you.

In a now deleted post, Kwezi attempted to provide clarity to the situation, in which she revealed that her attire was inspired by the fact that her mother is a Xhosa woman, and she therefore wanted to honour her mother’s lineage in some way during the negotiations. Continuing, she later shut down the rumours of her snatching her friend Tina Mbambo’s partner, explaining that Thina’s partner is actually her fiance’s brother, contrary to what the public believes.

This clarification also did not go how the actress had planned as mzansi doubled down on their stance against her union with the Durban entrepreneur, resulting in her deleting the post.
