Media personality Jub Jub was released on bail after being arrested following an alleged confrontation with an e-hailing driver.

Jub Jub, known as Molemo Maarohanye, made an urgent application at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 16 June 2026. The Magistrate’s court granted him R5 000 bail, effectively releasing him from jail.
Maarohanye was arrested on the 14 of June for allegedly threatening an e-hail driver, as he accused him of being involved in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend.

Jub Jub’s bail hearing
Jub Jub was initially expected to appear in court on Monday, but police announced that he would appear only on Wednesday, without providing reasons.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole said in a statement after the bail hearing, “On 16 June 2026, the High Court granted the application and ordered his release on bail of R5 000. The matter was postponed to 22 June 2026 in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court for further investigation.”
No further details have yet been revealed as the investigation is still ongoing.
