South African fans have been left fuming after recently discovering that American pop icon, Janet Jackson, has continued her musical tour despite the recent family tragedy.
The singer was scheduled to perform as the headlining act at this year’s DStv Delicious Food and Music Festival, this past weekend. While fans were excited to see her perform live, this dream did not materialise, after it was announced that her older brother and member of the Jackson 5, Tito Jackson, had passed away.
As a result, her team released a statement confirming that the Scream hitmaker would be withdrawing from the show to go and be with her family.
While fans may have been disappointed, many understood the nature of the circumstance, however, when a new tweet emerged that the singer continued to tour at some other shows, many X-users took to the platform to express their rage.
According to the @Janetbrsite fan account, the singer recently made her way to France where she performed in front of a sold-out crowd in Paris, before dining with friends.

This meanwhile has been met with criticism from SA fans.
Responding to the post on X, one user wrote: “My sister, you could have just said you don’t want to perform in South Africa for the Delicious Festival. Lying to us isn’t necessary.”
“She will come here once she’s old and out, that’s what they do,” said another user.
