Inside Gqeberha: the empire premiere launch

The much anticipated IsiXhosa television series had its first screening and the fans are gushing over the cast members. This premiere was held at the Boardwalk hotel and casino in Gqeberha.

The cast came ready to serve looks on the premiere and Mzansi is excited to see some of the familiar faces that include Zikhona Sodlaka, who plays Bulelwa a fearless matriarch of the Mxenge clan, Zoe Mutwana, plays Zimkhita, a lady who is after the throne, Mbulelo Grootbom plays a businessman who is a polygamist, Phila Mazibuko, and Anele Matoti.

Fan favorite Zikhona Sodlaka, has people anticipating drama and doing a countdown until this show airs.

This telenovela is the first one to be filmed in Gqeberha and has an entire storyline in IsiXhosa, the show is produced by the award winning production house Tshedza pictures. This telenovela is said to air on Mzansi magic on the 16th of January.

The storyline is based on a family that is headed by a businessman played by legendary actor Grootbom, who is a polygamist with three wives. According to Mzansi magic, watching this show you will see love, power, hierarchy, betrayal and all the ups and downs of the Mxenge family.

Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net said Mzansi Magic, told Shwashwi news that he is excited about the new telenovela “Our channel is a home for telenovela’s and our viewers enjoy and welcome new shows” -says Adonisi
