After Cassper Nyovest asked social media users if they think God has a sense of humour, actress Refilwe Modiselle shared her honest answer to the question posed.

Cassper, who has been candid about his spiritual journey, shared a video on Instagram telling users of the app about a joke that was shared between him and his Christian friends. “This joke talks about the day we meet our Father and how shocked we would act, and Him showing us how wrong we got it here on Earth.”

The rapper stated that although they found the joke funny, they shared an uncomfortable laugh. He then stated, “The Bible says we should not use His name in vain. So it made me think, ‘Do you think God has a sense of humour?’ I mean, He made us in His image, so we are kind of like Him. Even though we are sinners, we are nothing close to God, but since we have a sense of humour, I think He has a sense of humour … Do you think God has a sense of humour? I’ll leave it up to you.”

Many of the Siyathandana hitmaker’s followers and industry mates, such as Lady Du and Mpho Popps, took to his comment section to share their answers.

When it came to Refilwe, she commented, “He definitely does. Look at all the moments you get to say, ‘God, you are funny’.”

The media personality, who became the country’s first professional fashion model with albinism as a teen, continued, “I’m a black woman who came out white-looking, and I only say that it’s funny to me too because the world thinks it’s set on what the ideology of what blackness is.”

She concluded, “In short, the mere fact that he can do the opposite and laugh about certain things shows He’s funny. I mean, where do we get our humour from? Is He not the original creator?”
