Gayton McKenzie, Minister of the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, recently shared a post opening up about his testimony of overcoming a battle any parent fears to face: a fatally ailing child.

Gayton McKenzie talks about his child
On Facebook, the minister shared a picture of his teenage son, Cruz McKenzie, with a caption expressing the power of prayer. McKenzie shared that his son was born with many complications that led to him being rushed to the ICU and spending an undisclosed amount of time there.
The Patriotic Alliance leader stated that his son’s condition was so bad that doctors advised him and his family to prepare for the worst. McKenzie continues his post, stating that his son was later discharged and is now a thriving teenage boy who has never needed medical care again.

McKenzie also shared his motives behind this post. After he got off a phone call with parents who were going through a similar situation, he encouraged them to “pray for absolute healing.”

McKenzie’s post was well received, as many parents shared their testimonies. One man shared his own story of surviving a nearly fatal car accident and being wheelchair-bound. Fortunately, he is fully healed and thriving. Another shared a story of his eldest daughter and how she was healed through the power of prayer.
