The DJ was one of four people travelling in a Toyota bakkie when two suspects on a motorbike opened fire. According to eNCA, over 10 bullets hit the vehicle. Another passenger, alleged to be Thando Sonqishe, the estranged husband of actress Buhle Samuels, also succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The tragic incident occurred outside Blue Valley Golf and Country Estate in Midrand.
In 2017, IOL reported that Thando was allegedly linked to a heist at the OR Tambo International Airport. He denied any involvement in the crime.
Per a statement from the Blue Value Homeowners Association (BVHOA), one of the victims was a resident.
“As an additional precautionary safety measure, Fidelity Security Services, the BVHOA’s appointed security service provider, has deployed additional tactical armed guards to patrol and monitor the Estate and surrounding areas in order to further enhance the safety and security of all residents.”
