DJ Lamiez speaks about her postpartum struggles

DJ Lamiez Holworthy opens up on her postpartum struggles.

The star took to Instagram and revealed that she misses her pregnancy bump.  She, however, added that she is not excited about the hyperpigmentation she’s suffering after giving birth to Leano-Zion.

“Woke up missing my bump ? I however don’t like that I’m still struggling with some of the not so nice changes that came with pregnancy. Mainly? The hyperpigmentation- my neck, under my arms and inner thighs are still so much darker than the rest of my body,” she wrote.

In a separate Instagram post, Lamiez further revealed that she intends to work on her skin in order to help boost her confidence again.

“My body has gone through so many changes since my pregnancy and whilst I’ve tried to embrace all, the one that’s affected me and my lack of confidence most, is definitively my pigmentation and uneven skin tone,” she added.

Mothers took to her comments section and shared their postpartum struggle stories. This is what some of them had to say:

“I can relate, a year later still find it hard to recognise myself in the mirror because of the physical and emotional changes. However, I look at my lil one and realise that I went through/still going through this phase because of my God given superpower to bring life to this Earth♥️”

“I’ve had four kids… each pregnancy came with its own insecurities and stuff that I don’t like and remained. But an elder woman told me to not put myself under pressure to look the way I USED to look, my body went through a huge change and it took 9 months for it to go through those changes. Recovery should be atleast 18 months if not more because your body needs to Remember and go back to what it used to be and how it functioned. So be patient with that journey of going back! Hang in there ?”

“Yoooh I totally relate. I remember with my first (now 11), I was not used to all stretch mark I had from my 9month of pregnancy. It totally knocked my self-confidence down. I am current 32 weeks with second, I must say I’m super nervous. No stretch marks as i have been applying loads of oils. By the grace of God, I don’t have hyperpigmentation anywhere on my body. Just worried about what my tummy will look like after my c-section. But hey… we keep hoping?❤️❤️ Maybe try some retinol products for both face and neck to try balance out the hyperpigmentation ❤️”
