Davido and Musa Keys score VMA nomination

Congratulations are in order for musicians Davido and Musa Keys who bagged themselves an MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) nomination for their hit song Unavailable under the Afrobeats category.

The two award-winning artists are up against the following international acts:

  • Ayra Starr (Rush)
  • Burna Boy (It’s Plenty)
  • Fireboy DML & Asake (Bandana)
  • Libianca (People)
  • Rema & Selena Gomez (Calm Down)
  • Wizkid & Ayra Starr (2 Sugar)

Many social media users under the above post shared their certainty that Davido’s Unavailable – featuring Musa Keys – would take the win.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards is set to air on Wednesday, 13 September at 02:00 am SAST, and will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In other nomination news, late rappers AKA and Costa Titch have bagged nominations for the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA). The award ceremony is set to take place on 17 September 2023 in Dallas, Texas, just a few days after the VMAs.

AKA scored one nomination for Best Male Southern Africa while Costa scored three nominations under the categories Best Male Southern Africa, Best Collaboration for Shetani and Video of the Year.
