Celebs send their condolences following Zahara’s death

Since the news of multi-award-winning singer Zahara’s death has been shared with the world, many have taken to social media to express their condolences, including a few local celebs.

According to the publication Sunday World, Zahara (who was born Bulelwa Mkutukana) passed away on Monday at 21h00 at a private Johannesburg hospital with her partner, Mpho Xaba, at her bedside.

Zahara, who was admitted two weeks ago after reports of liver complications, was transferred to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after her condition worsened, ZiMoja previously shared. A source close to the family reportedly revealed to the publication that the singer’s liver was scarred, and she was in need of a liver transplant.

Since the announcement of the Loliwe hitmaker’s death, many of her industry mates have taken to social media to share their condolences and memory of Zahara.

Media personality Minnie Dlamini shared on Instagram:

“My heart is so sore ? Not only was she an incredible talent but she had a heart of gold!”

Minnie added that the late singer was one of the few people who reached out and checked up on her when she encountered personal struggles. “We shared a beautiful bond of sisterhood that I will forever cherish ❤️ 2023 started with a legendary loss and it’s decided to hit our industry again!!! Rest in power and thank you Bulelwa for your indelible contribution to music ?️.”
