On the 14th of April 2025, a year ago, Mzansi was introduced to the enigmatic telenovela known as Inimba.
With a storyline that took the nation by surprise, it is something which many didn’t see coming, nor did they know that the story would grow into what it has become. Inimba found its way into so many homes, and more importantly, so many hearts.

Originally greenlit for one season, DSTV’s Mzansi Magic could not avoid the impact the telenovela had on South African viewers. It was renewed for season 2 due to the great success of season 1.
On top of it becoming one of the most popular telenovelas of 2025, Inimba won multiple SAFTA awards. With just 2 seasons, it remains one of the most talked-about telenovelas in South Africa.

Inimba head writer Siphosethu Tshapu took to X (formerly Twitter) with a long caption.
“This journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. And the most beautiful part? We’re still having fun. We’re still telling the story. And the world of Inimba is only getting bigger, bolder, and even more unforgettable”.
