Bonang to receive changemaker award

Media personality Bonang Matheba is set to receive a changemaker award at the annual 5 For Change Black Tie Gala.

Bonang will be recognised for her work in girls education with the first ever 5 For Changemaker Award this weekend.

In a statement, the organisers of the 5 For Change gala explained their choice of Bonang by saying: “There is nobody in South Africa that better exemplifies the exact combination of social change leadership and a celebration of glamour that 5 For Change strive to bring to life each year with our Galas than Bonang. She is our dream choice to be our first 5ForChangeMaker Award recipient and we are honored she will join us to accept the award and help ring in what we know will be our grandest event yet!”

The 5 for Change Gala will take place on Saturday 27 October and Maps Maponyane will MC it.
