Tributes Pour In As Master KG Collaborator Casswell P Dies After Brief Illness

by nikita.m

A Rising Star Gone Too Soon

South Africa’s music scene is reeling from the sudden passing of producer Casswell Pontsho Ramothwala, better known as Casswell P. The 27-year-old talent from Lekgwareng, Bolobedu, Limpopo, died on Saturday, 27 September, after a short illness.

Wanitwa Mos Entertainment, the label that nurtured his career, confirmed the heartbreaking news and described him as “a valued member of the family whose warmth, creativity and passion left a lasting mark.”

From Limpopo Roots To National Recognition

Casswell P’s love for music started at just 16, when he began producing beats that cut across genres rather than sticking to one style. That curiosity shaped his career and gave his sound a unique edge.

Over the years, he collaborated with some of South Africa’s most celebrated artists. Among his standout projects were “Mangihlale” with Master KG and Lwami, “Ngisize Nami” with DJ Ngwazi and Nokwazi, and “Zwiya Naka” with Makhadzi. His recent release, “Amakhosi” with Nobuhle, has been gaining traction on digital platforms and packed dance floors across the country.

An Outpouring Of Grief On Social Media

Since the news broke, tributes have flooded social media from friends, collaborators and fans who admired both his artistry and his character.

Master KG shared an emotional post: “RIP my boy Casswell P. Life won’t be the same without you.”

Producer Lowsheen wrote: “May your spirit find peace and your sound echo forever in the hearts of those you touched. Rest easy, my brother.”

Singer Nobuhle, who worked closely with him, expressed her heartbreak in isiZulu: “Oh Smakade usishiyelani” (Oh God, why have you forsaken us?).

A Legacy That Lives On

For many, Casswell P was more than just a beatmaker; he was a bridge between Limpopo’s vibrant sounds and South Africa’s mainstream music stage. His collaborations carried echoes of home, while his versatility ensured that his work resonated far beyond his village roots.

As fans continue to share clips of his live sets and studio sessions, it’s clear that Casswell P’s impact will live on in the songs that defined him and the memories he created with those around him.

South Africa has lost a bright young talent, but his music will continue to inspire the next generation of producers and artists chasing their dreams from small towns to big stages.
