6 tips for beautiful skin

Get your skin ready for summer with these easy tips.

Stay hydrated
Staying hydrated is important, so make sure that you drink enough water during the day. It is easy to get dehydrated in the heat, and this will show on your skin. Also, make sure that you don’t drink a lot of tea and coffee as the caffeine drains moisture from the body.

Cleanse and exfoliate
Don’t use body soap on your face as it is often too harsh. You should also not just rely on face wipes to remove and cleanse your face in the evening. Rather use good-quality products to cleanse your face. Also, exfoliate weekly to wash away dead skin cells and remove excess oil.

Sunscreen is a must
Summer sunshine is great, but not so great for your skin. This is because the UVA and UVB rays from the sun penetrate and damage the skin. So, wear a minimum SPF of 30 all-year round before you moisturise in order to keep your skin beautiful and protected. Sunscreen also helps to avoid developing or worsening hyperpigmentation and dark spots. Also, try to stay out of the sun between 10am and 3pm as this is the hottest period of the day.

Moisturise
Always use the right moisturiser for your skin type after cleansing. Remember that you can use a lighter moisturiser during summer. Use it twice a day for best results.

A healthy diet
Make your skin look beautiful from the inside out by eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. Fresh fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants that are important for the health of your skin.

Rinse after swimming
Water that contains chlorine dries out the skin. So, it is important to rinse off after swimming in order to keep your skin looking its best.
